Waterfront is a new family drama now streaming on Netflix. Set on the coast of North Carolina, the show follows the Buckley family as they fight to keep their small-town fishing business afloat. The story mixes family conflicts, crime, and the pressure of holding on to a legacy built from scratch.

The series is created by Kevin Williamson, the creator behind Scream and Dawson’s Creek. It stars Holt McKelleny (Mindhunter, The Iron Claw) and Maria Bello (BEF, A History of Violence), with Melissa Benoist, Jack Verry, Rafael L. Silva, Humberly Gonzalez, Daniel Campbell, Brady Hepner, and guest star Topher Grace.

The Buckley family has been running Havenport’s fishing industry for years. They own a boat, a restaurant, and a name that means something to the town. But when the father of the family falls ill, everything begins to fall apart. His wife and son take over – but to save the business, they make risky choices that put the entire family at risk.

Inspired by true events, The Waterfront tells a story of love, loyalty and the lengths people will go to protect their family. It’s full of drama, mystery and tough decisions. As the Buckley family descends deeper into danger, they must decide what their legacy is truly worth.

If you liked Succession, Yellowstone or Bloodline, you’ll quickly become hooked on this show. It’s full of strong characters, tense moments and plenty of heart. The Waterfront is all about what happens when family, power and survival collide.

What Is The Waterfront About?

For years, the Buckley family has ruled Havenport, North Carolina, where everything from the fishing docks to the town’s top restaurants runs. But their strong hold is weakening as family leader Harlan Buckley (McCellaney) struggles with health issues after two heart attacks. His wife Belle (Bello) and son Ken (Vary) are now doing everything they can to keep things going.

As the family faces bigger problems, daughter Bree (Benoist), who is recovering and no longer has a son, becomes entangled in a messy relationship that could jeopardize the family’s future. Harlan tries to regain control and fix the family business before it collapses.

Creator Williamson says the show is really about choosing between good and evil. “It’s about people who mess up. They make bad choices and get thrown off the deep end,” he explains. “Sometimes they mess up, but other times they try to fix things and make things better.”
