What Will Happen Before Squid Game Season 3?
In Season 2 (which had the most views of any Netflix show in its first week), Gi-hoon tries to rally the other players to fight the people behind the game. Their plan seems to be working, as the group almost reaches the arena’s control room. But the front man who has been hiding as Player 001 for most of Season 2 turns on Gi-hoon and foils the plan. In a tragic twist, the front man kills Gi-hoon’s close friend Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan).
Lee Jung-jae, who plays Gi-hoon, feels that his character still doesn’t know Player 001’s secret. “I don’t think he knows yet. I think he blames himself for what happened,” the actor tells Todd.
Director Hwang says that Season 3 will show what Gi-hoon does after this big loss. “Gi-hoon feels a deep sense of loss and guilt,” he says. “In Season 3, we’ll see Gi-hoon return to the game and face what comes next.”
