Several performers thought backing out would embarrass Donald Trump.
But Trump responded with one move that had the Left completely fuming.
Trump just replaced a group of quitter musicians with someone Democrats fear most.
America’s birthday celebration turned political fast
You would think celebrating America’s 250th birthday would be something everyone could get behind.
Apparently not.
Because once a handful of musicians realized President Trump had ties to the upcoming “Great American State Fair,” they suddenly wanted nothing to do with it.
The event is scheduled to take place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. from June 25 through July 10 as part of the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration.
Organizers planned a massive patriotic celebration featuring concerts, family attractions, state exhibits, flyovers, and entertainment honoring America’s 250th anniversary.
But earlier this week several performers began dropping out of the event after backlash over its ties to President Trump and the Freedom 250 organization connected to the celebration.
Artists including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, The Commodores, and others pulled out after claiming they either didn’t fully understand the political connections behind the event or didn’t want to be caught in political controversy.
And honestly, nobody should be surprised anymore.
Hollywood and the entertainment industry have spent nearly a decade treating anything associated with Trump like radioactive waste.
Trump responds in classic Trump fashion
But instead of panicking about the cancellations, Trump did what he always does best.
He turned the entire situation into a show.
On Saturday, Trump posted on Truth Social mocking the musicians who backed out and joking that he may replace the “Third Rate Artists” himself.
Trump wrote that artists were getting “the yips” about performing and floated the idea of replacing them with “the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP.”
And then came the big announcement.
Freedom 250 officially confirmed that President Trump himself will headline the opening festivities for the Great American State Fair on June 24.
That decision probably made Democrats spit their coffee across the room.
Because the one thing Trump understands better than nearly anyone in politics is attention.
And now instead of headlines about musicians quitting, the entire story has become about Trump personally kicking off America’s birthday celebration.
That’s a political judo move only Trump could pull off.
Trump says he is the main attraction
The funniest part of this whole story is that Trump clearly knows exactly what he’s doing.
In another post, Trump suggested replacing the concert series entirely with a giant “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY.”
He also joked that he draws bigger crowds than Elvis did in his prime.
Now whether you love Trump or hate him, there’s one thing nobody can deny.
The man knows how to command attention better than any politician of our lifetime.
Every single thing he touches instantly becomes the biggest story in America.
And now America’s 250th birthday celebration is becoming yet another massive political and cultural moment centered around Trump himself.
Meanwhile some artists are still expected to appear at the event, including Vanilla Ice, Flo Rida, and Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli.
Vanilla Ice even defended the event publicly and questioned why celebrating America should be controversial in the first place.
That alone tells you everything you need to know about modern America.
We’ve reached a point where even celebrating the country’s birthday somehow becomes politically divisive.
But if there’s one thing Trump has proven over the years, it’s that when critics try to isolate him, he usually just gets louder, bigger, and more popular.
And now he’s turning America’s 250th anniversary into one giant patriotic rally.
