Bonnaroo Festival 2025: Cancelled Due to Extreme Bad Weather | How To Get Your Refunds

Bad weather has forced the 2025 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, to close early, bringing an abrupt end to a fun-filled event for music fans. The festival opened on Thursday, June 12, with Luke Combs and Rebecca Black performing at the opening ceremony.

As the weather worsened, the team asked everyone to leave the main festival area, Centeroo, by 1:30 p.m. Friday. “We are deeply saddened, but we have to make the safest choice and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo,” a message on the Bonnaroo app said.

The festival’s website also said: “Today, the National Weather Service gave us a new forecast that shows continued rain, which will make camping and festival-going difficult over the next few days.”

Who’s Set to Perform

Friday’s show featured Tyler, The Creator, Jon Summit, and Glass Animals. Olivia Rodrigo, Avril Lavigne and Justice were scheduled to play on Saturday, while Hozier, Vampire Weekend and Queens of the Stone Age were scheduled to play on Sunday.

This is the second major change to Bonnaroo in recent years. In 2021, Hurricane Ida also forced a complete shutdown.

Festival Organizers Say Safety Comes First

“We’re truly sorry,” the note said, “but we had to choose the safest route and shut down the rest of Bonnaroo.” The team said they care about everyone’s safety, promised to “make things right” for fans, and shared how to get a refund.

To help people get through the event better, the team asked people with safe campsites or RVs to stay an extra night so that those in bad spots could leave first. Some areas, mostly outhouses, were flooded with water and mud, making it difficult to get around.

“We need your patience,” the post said, asking the Bonnaroo crowd to be kind and helpful. The team said it was most important to help those in need and to work together to leave the area safely and peacefully.

The Bonnaroo team was devastated by the show’s cancellation. “We gave our all to make this weekend great,” they wrote. “It’s very painful to have to make this difficult choice.”

The Bonnaroo team said the weather service had warned of “heavy and persistent rain,” which could make camping and getting out and about difficult over the weekend.

• All single-day tickets and parking passes for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be fully refunded.
• Those who purchased 4-day tickets or 4-day camping through Front Gate Tickets will get 75% back.
• They will issue refunds within 30 days to the same card used for payment.
