Sardaar Ji 3 Box Office Collection, Cast, Budget, Review, OTT Release Date, Plot, Hit or Flop
Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Punjabi film Sardar Jee 3 has been mired in controversy over its casting.
The film, which released last week, is the first Indian film for Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, India had stopped all work with Pakistani actors due to rising tensions. Since Sardar Jee 3 was filmed before the attack, the team decided to release it only in other countries. The makers knew that skipping an Indian release could hurt earnings, but the film has performed surprisingly well at the global box office.
Hania Aamir Casting Controversy
The main issue is the choice of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. This led to criticism and after the Pahalgam attack, FWICE went ahead with its rule of not working with Pakistani talent.
Some critics criticized the film for not following this rule. But others like actor Naseeruddin Shah supported Diljit during the backlash.
In a Facebook post that was later deleted, Shah wrote, “I support Diljit. He didn’t choose the actors… No one knows who the director is, but everyone knows Diljit.”
He also said, “He said yes to the film because there is no hatred in his heart.”
His words set people on fire and reminded everyone how art, money and politics often mix in strange ways.

Naseeruddin Shah Supports Diljit Dosanjh
During the recent controversy, Diljit faced a lot of hate for working with Hania Aamir and then promoting the film. Earlier this week, actor Naseeruddin Shah expressed his support for the Punjabi singer-actor. But later, he deleted the post. He said that Diljit was not the one who chose Pakistani actress Hania Aamir for the role. Shah wrote, “I stand firmly with Diljit. The dirty tricks team of Jumla Party was waiting to chase him. Now they think they have found a reason. They did not decide the actors – that was the director’s job. But no one knows who the director is, and Diljit is famous everywhere. He agreed with the actors because his thinking is not filled with hate.”
Imtiaz Ali Supports Diljit
Earlier, Diljit’s Chamkila director, Imtiaz Ali also stood by him and said that he is not a fake person.
“I don’t know everything, but the choice of an actor is not the actor’s own choice. I don’t know how it happened, but I know one thing – he loves his country a lot (he really loves his country). If people understand his true nature, they will see him,” he said, “People who understand his truth will see him. Tamasha director.
